The Florida portion of the seashore features offshore islands with sparkling white sand beaches historic fortifications and nature trails. The Mississippi portion of the seashore features natural beaches, historic sites, wildlife sanctuaries, islands accessible only by boat, bayous, nature trails, picnic areas, and campgrounds.
